- Students Will Receive Intensive, High Quality Individualized Instruction Using a Systematic, Multi-Sensory Approach for Skill Development With one of our OG learning specialists
- Focus Areas: Decoding, Spelling, Writing, Vocabulary, Fluency
- Must Sign up for the Entire Week’s Session (10 Hours of Instruction)
Orton-Gillingham Tutoring Program Features:
- Systematic teaching of phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, and spelling to build word recognition and strategies to help students with literacy skills.
- Targeted fluency instruction to build reading rate and prosody.
- Comprehension instruction to include both background knowledge/vocabulary and strategy use.
- Writing instruction throughout the lesson.
- All instructional activities are based on student assessed needs and strengths.
- Provides students with ample opportunities for fun enrichment activities geared towards building reading fluency, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
Summer Camp Dates & Session Descriptions:
1st session:
“Decoding, Phonemic Awareness/ Introduction to OG”
In this session, students will work on phonemic awareness tasks including segmentation, isolation, manipulation of sounds, syllables, and morphemes; syllable division and spelling patterns rules using an multi-sensory learning approach.
* Session Best For: Rising 2nd & 3rd graders
2nd session:
“Advanced OG/Word Study”
In this session, students will dig into the roots of the English language. This week is designed for students with dyslexia who have been utilizing the Orton-Gillingham approach. Delve into morphology and etymology through scientific word investigation.
* Session Best For: Rising 3rd-6th grade preferred
3rd Session:
“OG for Newbies”
This session is designed for students who are new to the OG methodology. Students will learn phonemic awareness skills, syllable types, and basic spelling generalizations.
* Session Best For: Rising 1st-2nd grade
4th Session:
“Fluency & Written Expression Skills”
In this session, students will strengthen written expression, learn strategies for develop characters, plot, setting, and publish writing utilizing Framing Your Thoughts curriculum.
* Session Best For: Rising 3rd–6th grade
5th Session:

In this session, students will work on phonemic awareness tasks including segmentation, isolation, manipulation of sounds, syllables, and morphemes; syllable division and spelling rules using an multi-sensory learning approach.

- Price: $500 per Session (10 Hours of Orton-Gillingham Instruction)
Placement Screening/Assessment
Students will meet with one of our OG learning specialists for a screening prior to the start of the session. Screening will take approximately one hour. You will be contacted to schedule.
